Supporting Our Troops 'Over There'

Beginnings:

The Story of Dummy

This roping dummy was made in Afghanistan from a steer head that Arnold Norman's wife sent to him and from used MRAP parts.

demoArnold is an avid team roper back home in Texas. He took two ropes with him when he left so he could stay in practice.

Welcome to RA!

New Rope Afghanistan website launches.

In The Beginning

The original Facebook page came into being as a result of an idea that Arnold Norman, who is currently working in Baraki Barak, Afghanistan, had. He is an avid team roper back home in Texas. He took two ropes with him when he left so he could stay in practice. He built a roping dummy from a steer head his wife sent to him and from used MRAP parts. And he invited the troops to practice with him. AND THEY LOVED IT!. So much in fact that he decided to hold the first ever Dummy Team Roping in Afghanistan. So now there are nearly 50 military guys and gals practicing for this event to be held in October. What started off as three people who decided to help him make the first ever roping held in Afghanistan a success had turned into an incredible group over 700 strong who have offered to help in a lot of different ways.

GOD BLESS COWBOYS!

I will be shipping daily. We are getting requests from service members from all over for ropes, how to DVD's, gloves, and dummies. Dummies have to fit in the smaller boxes, since the post office has a limit on size that can be shipped over there. National Ropers Supply sells one that is a tripod fold up that will fit the bill perfectly. If anyone knows of any others, please email me. Again, we really appreciate all of the support that is being given.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
